  Dubs at my door ... what will I do?

  for those that don't know, my wife and i moved away from our family and friends to fade away.

  my mom and her new uber-elder husband with gb connections have been spreading it around where we are from that he is going to send a couple of elders to my house for spiritual "assistance".

  so, everytime an unfamiliar car comes up my driveway a small wave of dread comes over me as the car gets closer.

  The average JDub that doesn't know you or your history is no big deal. To them you’re just another householder who probably isn't interested. However JDubs given your address by your family is another matter entirely. You just know that there will be a report back home as to how you and your wife responded to their visit. That's definitely not a very comfortable position to be in. I certainly am glad that the days of hiding my thoughts regarding the WBTS from my JDub mother are behind me.

  Went to a witness party....oh, excuse me, "gathering" over the weekend.....

  the mrs. and i were invited to a "gathering" this weekend.

  was just supposed to be some friends getting together for some food and fellowship.

  when we arrived, there were a bunch of jw's in the back yard(50 to 100) and the music was pumping loud(not that i minded{smile}).

  In my experience a JW party ment square dancing, bible charades (as previously mentioned) or some other lame type of entertainment. Oh yeah....how could I forget. The talent shows. What a riot they were. Not much talent in my local KH let me tell you.

  Nope, nothing that I miss, that's for sure.

  Hey there U_B. Sorry to hear about the confrontation with your wife. Fortunatly I faded from the borg before marrying my lovely "worldly" wife. As a result I'm in no position to give advice on such matters, however, perhaps if you slapped her around a bit....?

  Well, I purchased some legal and non-legeal pyrotechnics the other day. If it would stop raining in my neck of the woods, I plan on taking my children outside and lighting them off in my residential neighborhood . Oh the horror!

  Yeah, In Between, I feel that your description of the two is pretty much in line with my viewpoint. I suppose I consider myself an "inactive apostate". I’m not out diligently trying to undermine the WTBS or keeping track of my time spent but if the opportunity presents it self to enlighten an individual as to what they really are I will not sit by idly.

  WHAT MAKES YOU GLAD TO BE ALIVE.............?

  i live quite a mundane and often boring life..................due to circumstances beyond my control,.

  but a few times a week i think "im so glad im alive "..............its usually when i take the dog out for a walk and see the lovely enviroment that im blessed to live in.. but today we fixed some lights up round the garden and now its gone dark finally ( 12pm).

  they look so beautiful, i was stunned, a photo couldnt capture it.

  i thought i would open up a thread on firearms and shooting.

  personally i was raised around firearms as my dad was not a jw.

  some of my earliest memories are of my dad teaching me how to put a round in a fleas ass at 200 meters.

  Currently I own a Mark IV series Government Colt 1911. It belonged to my old man and I talked him into giving it to me. It was my first. The following photo is not mine (mine is a little more worn than this one unfortunatly).

  I carry a S&W CS40 on a daily basis.

  Im getting the itch to buy another. I've been looking at polymer frames and I cant seem to make up my mind as to wether to buy a full size or a compact. I've been giving the Springfield XD's a serious look though. If I go full size I was thinking about either the new XD45 or even perhaps one of the tatical series. But the size and weight of the sub-compact 3" seems real appealing.

  Any suggestions?

  OMG!!! The UN took away my computer!!!

  that's right... when you go visit the un building you are not allowed to bring any large bags with you, which includes a notebook computer bag, so they made me check the bag and they gave me a ticket so i could get it back later.. did you know that the 18 acres of the un facility is not us territory?

  i was surprised to learn that it is "international territory" that does not belong to any country.. .

  on other things... .
